On Friday(27th Sept),The Supreme Court of India emphasized that retired high court judges heading tribunals must receive appropriate salaries and benefits to maintain their dignity. The bench, led by Chief Justice Dhananjaya Y Chandrachud, urged state governments to ensure fair compensation or consider appointing individuals from other professions.
Puja Khedkar, a former IAS trainee, is seeking the exclusion of seven out of her twelve attempts at the Civil Services exam due to a disability, prompting a legal battle. The controversy also involves allegations of falsified disability claims and identity fraud, which led to the UPSC revoking her selection. The case is ongoing in the Delhi High Court.
