On Friday(7th June), Former Unitech promoters Sanjay Chandra and Ajay Chandra have been granted bail by a Delhi court in a Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) case filed by the Enforcement Directorate. The decision, made by Additional Sessions Judge Dheeraj More, considers the extensive 2.5 years the brothers have spent in jail without trial commencement since their arrest in 2017.
Today, On 6th May, Arun Reddy, linked to the manipulated video case involving Amit Shah, has been remanded to judicial custody until tomorrow. The high-profile matter underscores the seriousness of legal actions being pursued. The video controversy led to arrests and ongoing investigations by Delhi Police and Cyber Crime Police, highlighting the significance of scrutinizing digital content.
Today(on 16th April), Delhi Police confirmed acquiring necessary sanctions under UAPA and CrPC for the NewsClick Case prosecution. The Special Public Prosecutor presented three sanction orders as part of a supplementary chargesheet. The case was postponed until April 30, 2024, with emphasis on thorough examination of the 8,000-page chargesheet. Newsclick and its founder are accused of promoting pro-China propaganda.
