The Madhya Pradesh High Court has adjourned hearings on petitions contesting the OBC quota hike, in light of the Supreme Court’s interim stay on these proceedings. The Supreme Court is currently adjudicating nine petitions requesting the transfer of all related cases from the MP High Court. Consequently, the high court hearings have been deferred.
The Madhya Pradesh High Court dismissed a petition challenging the 27% OBC reservation, clearing the way for sub-engineer recruitment. The recruitment drive aims to fill 3,400 posts across 27 departments, with initial results based on the OBC reservation. Despite pending Supreme Court petitions, the decision confirms the reservation for current and similar recruitments.
Today(on 22nd May), Calcutta High Court invalidates all OBC certificates issued by the Trinamool Congress government since 2011, affecting around five lakh certificates for employment and education benefits. The ruling bars these certificates from use in employment processes to address procedural irregularities.
