A Sambhal court has directed a commissioner to submit a survey report on the Jama Masjid within 10 days amid claims of a prior temple on the site. The Supreme Court urged maintaining peace and delayed action until an appeal is heard. Violence erupted during surveys, resulting in fatalities and injuries. Next hearing is January 8.
Ashutosh Pandey, president of the Shri Krishna Janmabhoomi Mukti Nirman Trust, received 22 threatening WhatsApp audio messages from Pakistani numbers, warning of a bomb threat against the Allahabad High Court related to his ongoing legal case. Authorities are investigating the threats which also include personal threats to Pandey.
A Delhi court today (28th Oct) has postponed its ruling on Engineer Rashid’s regular bail application in a terror funding case, now set for November 19. Rashid, a Lok Sabha MP, was granted interim bail in September to campaign for elections but has since surrendered to Tihar Jail as this bail expired. His defense claims he faces political persecution.
