Today, On 19th December, Supreme Court agreed to hear a female lawyer’s plea alleging shocking 14-hour illegal detention and custodial sexual assault by police officials. The bench said serious allegations warranted examination and issued notice while directing preservation of CCTV footage evidence.
Journalist Ajeet Bharti was questioned by Noida Police over his remarks following the alleged shoe attack on CJI BR Gavai in the Supreme Court, where he warned that “if judges keep making anti-Hindu remarks, it may happen on streets too.”
Journalists Shazia Nisar and Adarsh Jha were arrested by Noida Police for allegedly blackmailing Bharat24 CMD Jagdish Chandra with a fake rape case threat and extorting money. Both are now in judicial custody.
