Anurag Singh Thakur, former Union Sports Minister, has challenged his disqualification from the Boxing Federation of India (BFI) presidential elections. The Supreme Court is reviewing this case following an interim stay by the Himachal Pradesh High Court allowing Thakur to participate after his nomination was initially rejected.
New Delhi: Today, 6th March, The Supreme Court of India has refused to interfere in a petition challenging the high airfare for Hajj pilgrims flying from Kozhikode airport. The court stated that deciding airfare is a “policy matter” and any intervention could “cause more harm than good.” However, the court directed the Central Government to upload a detailed explanation on its website regarding the increased airfare for flights from Kozhikode.
The Supreme Court of India, led by Justices Surya Kant and NK Singh, addressed the heavy workload and vacancy issues within the Armed Forces Tribunal. They suggested establishing additional benches in remote areas to enhance access to justice and urged the government to expedite the appointment process and improve tribunal operations.
