Today, On 21st October, Chief Justice D.Y. Chandrachud announced a two-week extension for an expert panel reviewing NEET-UG reforms. The Supreme Court’s decision allows the panel to finalize its comprehensive report, addressing key issues in the exam’s administration and highlighting security lapses, while ensuring improvements in transparency and efficiency.
The Education Minister acknowledged irregularities in the NEET exam process, citing issues at six out of 4,500 centers. He assured strict action against those responsible and emphasized the government’s concern. The Supreme Court is reviewing petitions related to the alleged paper leak, which primarily occurred in Patna. The NTA has revoked initially awarded grace marks and planned a re-test for affected students.
