Samajwadi Party MLA Irfan Solanki and four others have been convicted for arson and harassment, with sentencing scheduled for June 7 by Judge Satyendra Nath Tripathi in Kanpur. The group harassed a woman and set her house on fire in an attempt to seize her property. Solanki has been imprisoned since December 2021 and is currently in Maharajganj jail.
