The Karnataka High Court stayed all criminal proceedings initiated against a man who printed a message on his wedding invitation card asking people to vote for Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the 2024 parliamentary elections. On November 11, Justice M Nagaprasanna passed the interim stay order and also issued notice to the Karnataka government and a polling officer, the original complainant in the case, seeking their responses on a quashing petition filed by one Shivaprasad, a resident of Dakshin Kannada district.

He also observed that the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) was a humane law. “Abrogation of Article 370 is an example of constitutional integration. An example of a humane law such as CAA is in front of us. On issues such as these, in the national interest, usual justice is something what our court judgements explicitly state. From lower to Supreme Court, on issues such as this, a nation first principle has been adopted,” he said.
YouTuber Dhruv Rathee told a Delhi court that the Suresh Nakhua, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader who is suing Rathee for defamation, has a history of abusing public figures and is playing fraud on the court to get a favourable order. A Delhi Court Yesterday (August 6th) granted time to YouTuber Dhruv Rathee to file a reply to the plea filed by BJP leader Suresh Karamshi Nakhua, seeking a temporary injunction in the defamation case filed by him. Rathee’s lawyer sought extra time from the court and said that his client does not reside in India, and he would therefore have to seek instructions from him.
