R S Gavai, father of CJI-designate B R Gavai, was an Ambedkarite leader, ex-MP, and Governor of Kerala and Bihar. Justice Gavai has acknowledged his father’s decades-long association with the Congress party in public statements.

Today, On 5th May, the Delhi HC scheduled a hearing for AAP leaders Arvind Kejriwal and Manish Sisodia’s pleas against the ED chargesheet in the excise policy case on August 12, challenging the court’s order in the investigation.

New Delhi, March 21 – The Delhi High Court has declined to advance the hearing on the Enforcement Directorate’s (ED) plea in the money laundering case linked to the now-scrapped Delhi excise policy. Justice Ravinder Dudeja, while addressing the request on Friday, stated that the court was dealing with several pending cases and it would not be possible to reschedule the hearing at an earlier date.

Today, On 15th January, The Delhi High Court has dismissed a PIL challenging Deputy CM Manish Sisodia’s residence in a government bungalow. The court stated that if any rules are violated, the concerned authorities have the power to take appropriate action. It emphasized that there was no need for judicial intervention in this matter. The decision has put an end to the legal challenge against Sisodia’s accommodation.
