NEW DELHI: The Delhi High Court on Monday (13th Jan) refused to grant an interim injunction to Gensol Electric Vehicles, which had sought to stop Mahindra Last Mile Mobility Limited from selling its newly launched electric vehicle (EV), ‘eZEO.’
Mahindra initiated legal proceedings against IndiGo Airlines regarding brand rights claims over the name “BE 6e” for its new electric SUV. Mahindra argues their branding is distinct and does not overlap with IndiGo’s “6E.” This dispute highlights tensions between trademark registrations while Mahindra aims to enhance its electric vehicle market.
India’s largest airline IndiGo has filed a suit before the Delhi High Court for infringement of trademark against Mahindra Electric Automobile Limited for using ‘6E’ in its new electric car called Mahindra BE 6E, which is expected to hit the Indian roads in February 2025. The case came up before Justice Amit Bansal on Tuesday. However, the judge chose to recuse from hearing the matter. The case is now expected to come up for hearing on December 9.
