Today, On 26th July, Shiv Sena leader Bharatshet Gogavale has sought an urgent hearing in the Bombay High Court to challenge Maharashtra Speaker Rahul Narwekar’s decision not to disqualify 14 MLAs from the opposing Uddhav Thackeray faction. He argues that the members violated party instructions and should be disqualified. The court has set the hearing for August 6.
Maharashtra Assembly Speaker Rahul Narwekar delivered his decision on Thursday, favoring the Ajit Pawar-led faction of the NCP in response to the disputed disqualification petitions filed by opposing factions within the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP). Narwekar ruled that the Ajit Pawar faction holds the status of the primary NCP political entity, citing their legislative majority as a determining factor.
