Former Supreme Court Judge V Ramaswami Passes Away at 96

Chennai: Former Supreme Court judge V Ramaswami, who was the first judge in independent India to face removal proceedings, passed away on Saturday at his home in Chennai due to cardiac arrest. He was 96 years old. Justice Ramaswami is survived by three daughters and two sons. One of his sons is an advocate.

JUSTICE R. MAHADEVAN

Justice R. Mahadevan, born on June 10, 1963, in Chennai, was appointed as an Additional Judge of the Madras High Court in 2013 and became a Permanent Judge in 2015. He transitioned to the Supreme Court, marking a significant milestone as the first Chief Justice of the Madras High Court elevated in six years.

Supreme Court Welcomes Two New Judges| Centre Appoints Justices N Kotiswar Singh & R Mahadevan

Today, On 16th July, the Centre approved the appointments of Justices N Kotiswar Singh and R Mahadevan as Supreme Court judges, following the recommendation of the Supreme Court Collegium on July 11. Once confirmed, the court will have a full complement of 34 judges. Justice Singh will be the first Supreme Court judge from Manipur, and Justice Mahadevan has extensive experience in the legal field.
