The Allahabad High Court has scheduled the next hearing in the Krishna Janmbhoomi–Shahi Idgah mosque dispute in Mathura for April 10. Hindus allege the Aurangzeb-era Shahi Idgah mosque was built after demolishing a temple at Lord Krishna’s birthplace.
Today, Petitioners seek removal of the mosque in Mathura, Uttar Pradesh, claiming it stands on Lord Krishna’s birthplace. Supreme Court to hear Shahi Idgah Masjid’s challenge to Allahabad High Court ruling on Sept 17. Disputed land’s history and legal battles between Hindu and Muslim parties continue with intricate details and ongoing hearings.
On Monday(12th August), the Allahabad High Court adjourned the hearing in the Krishna Janmbhoomi-Shahi Idgah dispute due to the incomplete exchange of documents between the litigant parties. The case is being heard by Justice Mayank Kumar Jain.
