The Supreme Court of India is planning to live-stream all of its hearings. An app to facilitate live-streaming of all benches of the Supreme Court is in the testing phase. Until recently, only Constitution Bench matters and certain select cases of public importance, particularly from the Chief Justice’s Court, were available for live streaming.

Yesterday, On 14th September, The CBI arrested the former principal of Kolkata’s RG Kar Medical College and Hospital, Sandip Ghosh, and police officer Abhijit Mondal for attempting to destroy evidence in a high-profile rape and murder case. The incident sparked public outrage and led to the CBI taking over the investigation. The Chief Minister declined the protesting doctors’ request for live-streaming their meeting.
