Today, On 1st October, BJP councillor Raja Iqbal Singh withdrew his contempt petition against Delhi Mayor Shelly Oberoi, following the Supreme Court’s recommendation to approach the High Court instead. The petition accused the mayor of disobeying a prior court order related to MCD Standing Committee elections, which were delayed beyond the required timeframe.
New Delhi: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) plans to file a petition in the Supreme Court on Saturday(28th Sept) challenging the “unconstitutional, illegal, and undemocratic” election of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) Standing Committee, as stated by senior party leader and Delhi Chief Minister Atishi.
The Delhi High Court criticized the Health Minister and Lieutenant Governor for the poor health infrastructure in Delhi. The court directed a meeting involving senior officials to address the urgent need for recruiting 38,000 additional health workers. The Court also instructed the AIIMS Director to oversee the implementation of healthcare improvement measures.
