The New Delhi Bar Association advised virtual court appearances on February 21 and 23 due to Bar Council of Delhi elections at Delhi High Court, impacting New Delhi district and Patiala House Courts proceedings.
Today, On 10th February, The legal community gathered in the Supreme Court to wish Chief Justice of India Surya Kant on his birthday, as lawyers across the Bar greeted him warmly. CJI Surya Kant acknowledged their wishes with a gracious “Thank you.”
The Rajasthan High Court addressed the ongoing lawyers’ strike protesting working Saturdays. The Bench emphasized that lawyers do not have the right to strike or abstain from work, as such actions put undue pressure on litigants.
CJI Surya Kant said the Bombay High Court is more than a structure, reflecting sharp yet disciplined advocacy and dignity. He noted it fosters a culture where disagreement stays respectful and institutional dignity endures even during serious contest.
The Delhi High Court Bar Association celebrated Justice Surya Kant’s appointment as Chief Justice of India at the Main Court Building. In his address, CJI Kant emphasized, “Collaboration between bar and bench is crucial in the justice delivery system.”
Justice MS Sonak bid farewell to the Bombay High Court before assuming charge as Chief Justice of the Jharkhand High Court. He urged the Bar to guide the judiciary and said criticism strengthens the institution despite discomfort and challenges.
Today, On 15th December, Amid severe pollution levels in the national capital, the Delhi High Court issued an advisory to the Bar. Lawyers and self-represented litigants were advised to utilise hybrid appearances via video conferencing to reduce physical presence in court.

The Supreme Court Bar Association will organise an 8KM Run/Walkathon themed “Justice for All” in New Delhi on November 9, starting 7 AM from the Supreme Court Gate, to promote equality, legal awareness, fitness, and unity in the legal community.
