The Supreme Court is hearing Today (Oct 15) the suo motu case taken over the rape and murder of a trainee doctor at Kolkata’s RG Kar Medical College Hospital. A bench comprising Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud, Justice JB Pardiwala and Justice Manoj Misra will hear the matter. On the previous hearing date (September 30), the junior doctors’ association had told the Court they were performing all essential medical services, including IP and OP duties. Earlier, the Court had directed the protesting doctors to stop the abstention from work. The Court is also examining the progress of the investigation by the Central Bureau of Investigation.

Today, September 30,the Supreme Court is hearing matters linked to the rape and murder of a doctor at Kolkata’s RG Kar Medical College and Hospital. After a month-long protest, junior doctors returned to work on Saturday and indicated that they may consider resuming a complete ‘cease work’ in medical colleges, depending on the state government’s assurances about their safety during the upcoming court proceedings.

The Supreme Court Today (Sept 17) is hearing matters linked to the rape and murder of a doctor at Kolkata’s RG Kar Medical College and Hospital. Between the last hearing and this one, a big development is the CBI slapping evidence tampering charge on Dr Sandip Ghosh and police officer Abhijit Mondal. CM Mamata yesterday announced that most of the doctors’ demands were met. Kolkata Police Chief Vineet Goyal will resign, and Deputy Commissioner Abhishek Gupta will be removed, along with two senior health officials.
