Today, On 23rd August, The Allahabad High Court granted MLA Abbas Ansari bail in a coercion case regarding a land deed, along with two others. The case, filed over a forced land transfer, involved alleged threats and cash transactions. Ansari’s defense argued the case was politically motivated, pointing out the significant delay in filing the complaint.
The Supreme Court today has postponed Abbas Ansari’s bail plea hearing regarding an alleged unauthorized meeting with his wife at Chitrakoot jail. The court has given the Uttar Pradesh Government one week to respond, rescheduling the case for September. Ansari challenges denial of bail and his involvement in money laundering cases. Seven individuals, including Ansari’s wife, were arrested.
