Today, On 9th September, The Karnataka High Court extended the stay on trial court proceedings against Chief Minister Siddaramaiah in the MUDA case until September 12. The case involves alleged irregularities during his tenure as Chairman of MUDA. The court postponed the hearing on Siddaramaiah’s petition challenging the Governor’s approval for his prosecution to the same date. This extends temporary relief to the CM as the legal battle continues.
Today(on 17th June),Former Karnataka CM BS Yediyurappa appeared before the CID for inquiry into a POCSO case alleging his involvement in molesting a minor girl. Karnataka BJP President BY Vijayendra expressed confidence in the legal process, affirming Yediyurappa’s cooperation with the investigation.
Today(on 18th April), Chief Minister Siddaramaiah defends his 2023 election win in Varuna, calling the challenging petition a duplicate and urging the Karnataka High Court for a procedural reassessment. His legal team highlighted widespread copying in election petitions and called for consequences against the petitioner. The court agreed to a further hearing next Wednesday.
