On Monday(5th August), a Delhi court dismissed BRS Leader K. Kavitha’s default bail petition in the Delhi Excise Policy CBI case after her counsel withdrew the plea. The special judge ruled the petition as withdrawn. In related news, the Delhi High Court dismissed Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s plea challenging his arrest by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) concerning the Excise Policy matter.
Today (5th April): The Rouse Avenue Court has allowed the CBI to interrogate BRS leader K Kavitha in Tihar Jail regarding the Delhi excise policy case. Kavitha was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate for alleged money laundering. The interrogation seeks information about recovered chats and a land deal related to bribery allegations. Kavitha is currently in judicial custody, with a verdict on her interim bail plea expected on April 8.
Today (3rd April) Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, currently in judicial custody over the liquor policy case, began his day in Tihar Jail by cleaning his cell. He has requested a chair and is allowed home-cooked meals and prescribed medications. Kejriwal is in good health and has lost weight. He was also in Tihar Jail in 2014.
