Justice Alok Aradhe Sworn in as 48th Chief Justice of Bombay High Court

Justice Alok Aradhe was appointed as the Chief Justice of the Bombay High Court on January 13, succeeding Justice Devendra Kumar Upadhyaya, who is now the Chief Justice of the Delhi High Court. The oath ceremony took place at Raj Bhavan, attended by various dignitaries. Justice Aradhe has a distinguished legal career and initiated transparency reforms in his previous role.

Centre Approves Appointment of New Chief Justices for Delhi and Bombay High Courts

The President of India has transferred Justice Devendra Kumar Upadhyaya from Chief Justice of the Bombay High Court to Chief Justice of the Delhi High Court, following a Supreme Court Collegium recommendation. Justice Alok Aradhe is appointed as Chief Justice of the Bombay High Court. Both appointments took effect as of January 14.

Supreme Court Collegium Recommends Justice Devendra Kumar Upadhyaya as Delhi High Court Chief Justice

The Supreme Court Collegium has recommended Justice Devendra Kumar Upadhyaya for appointment as Chief Justice of the Delhi High Court, replacing Justice Vibhu Bakhru. Currently the Chief Justice of the Bombay High Court, Upadhyaya’s appointment follows his legal career, including roles in the Allahabad High Court and state legal counsels.
