Today, On 25th July, Union Minister of State for Law & Justice Arjun Ram Meghwal told Parliament, “BCI is drafting Model Code to ensure fairness, transparency, and accountability in law internships,” aiming to improve selection, working conditions, and grievance redressal for students.
During last week’s Supreme Court summer vacation bench, Justice Sanjay Karol encouraged junior lawyers. He said, “Junior lawyers shouldn’t get stuck, overawed, frightened of SC judges, those arguing are doing well,” praising their efforts.
Today, On 21st October, the Supreme Court found Senior Advocate Rishi Malhotra made false statements in at least 15 cases, leading to concerns over Advocate-on-Record (AoR) guidelines. The Court appointed Dr. S. Muralidhar as Amicus Curiae and scheduled a hearing for November 11 to address these issues and reform oversight of AoRs.
