The Delhi High Court today has reserved its verdict on Arvind Kejriwal’s bail plea regarding the excise policy case. The CBI identified Kejriwal as the central figure in the excise policy case and has submitted its final chargesheet. Kejriwal’s judicial custody has been extended, and he has sought bail due to lack of new evidence.
Today, On 28th May, The Delhi High Court rejected the plea of former PFI chairman E. Abubacker for release under the UAPA on medical grounds. He was arrested in 2022 as part of a crackdown on PFI. The Court upheld his detention, citing the alleged criminal conspiracy by PFI and its affiliates in terrorist activities across India.
Today, On 16th May, The Supreme Court of India declined to halt the NEET results release, despite allegations of a question paper leak. The plea, raised due to reported leaks and incorrect question papers, requested a re-examination. The court dismissed the request, but issued a notice to the Central government. Concerns over exam integrity and previous similar instances were highlighted.
