The Supreme Court of India has directed all High Courts to disclose how long judges take to deliver and upload judgments. This move aims to promote transparency, accountability, and timely justice within the Indian judiciary.
The Supreme Court has raised concerns over inconsistent work ethics among High Court judges, stating, “Some judges work very hard, others take unnecessary coffee breaks,” and stressed the urgent need for a performance audit.
Today, On 5th May, The Supreme Court strongly criticised the Jharkhand High Court for delaying verdicts in criminal cases and directed all High Courts to submit status reports, stating, “This cannot be allowed to happen in a judicial system.”
