NEW DELHI: The Supreme Court on Wednesday, January 15, dismissed a petition that challenged the decision to donate the mortal remains of MM Lawrence, a senior leader of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) in Kerala and a former Lok Sabha MP, to a medical hospital for research purposes.
The Supreme Court will hear a plea seeking medical aid for farmers’ leader Dallewal on January 15. On December 12, 2024, Dallewal appealed to several religious leaders, urging them to press the Central government to meet the farmers’ demands. These demands include a legal assurance of a minimum support price (MSP) for crops. The plea highlights the ongoing struggle for farmers’ rights and welfare.
The Delhi High Court On Friday (20th Dec) extended medical relief for former BJP MLA Kuldeep Singh Senger until January 15, 2025, amid disputes between the victim’s and Senger’s counsels regarding his surveillance. The victim’s mother opposed the decision, emphasizing safety concerns. Senger, convicted for rape, had previously been granted interim bail for personal reasons.
