The Supreme Court Today (Jan 28) granted custody parole to former AAP councillor Tahir Hussain, enabling him to campaign for the Delhi Assembly elections as an AIMIM candidate. Effective until February 3, the parole allows him to leave jail during the day under strict security conditions and return at night. This decision was made despite strong objections from the Delhi Police, represented by Additional Solicitor General SV Raju.
Today, On 28th January, Tahir Hussain requested the Supreme Court to grant custody parole in his remaining cases, allowing him to campaign for the upcoming elections. He proposed staying in a hotel room instead of his home to address concerns about influencing witnesses. Hussain’s plea aims to ensure his participation in the electoral process while maintaining transparency. The court’s decision on this matter is pending.
Today, On 14th January, The Delhi High Court heard Tahir Hussain’s plea seeking interim bail to contest the upcoming assembly elections. The Bombay High Court today has sought a response from the Maharashtra Government on a bail application by Bhavesh Bhide, director of Ego Media, related to a hoarding collapse in Ghatkopar that resulted in 17 deaths. Justices Dangre and Deshpande have directed the government to address the lack of written grounds for the arrest provided to the accused. The Mumbai police must submit an affidavit by July 26.
