New Delhi, March 26: Delhi High Court judge Justice Yashwant Varma, who is under investigation after burnt cash was allegedly found at his home, met a team of senior lawyers on Wednesday. This meeting took place ahead of his scheduled appearance before an in-house inquiry committee set up by the Supreme Court. According to sources, Justice Varma sought legal advice from senior advocates Siddharth Aggarwal, Maneka Guruswamy, Arundhati Katju, and advocate Tara Narula. These lawyers visited his official residence at Lutyens’ Delhi to discuss the legal aspects of the case and his response to the allegations.
Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar has convened a meeting to discuss judicial accountability following allegations of cash found at Justice Yashwant Varma’s residence. The meeting, involving BJP and Congress leaders, aims to address concerns raised about corruption and constitutional amendments. An inquiry committee has been formed to investigate the matter further.
