New Delhi, 17th February 2025: The National Commission for Women (NCW) has issued a new hearing date after multiple individuals failed to appear in response to a summons regarding derogatory and obscene remarks made on the YouTube program ‘India’s Got Latent’.
The Supreme Court on Tuesday (10th Dec) dismissed the CBI’s plea against medical bail granted to Dheeraj Wadhawan, former DHFL promoter, citing health issues. The trial is expected to last over a decade due to the case’s complexity. The court imposed strict bail conditions while revoking the Wadhawan brothers’ statutory bail, reinforcing procedural errors by earlier courts.
Rasik Chandra Mandal, a 104-year-old man serving a life sentence for a 1988 murder, was granted interim bail by the Supreme Court after years of unsuccessful appeals. His case, prompted by his advanced age and health concerns, will continue to be reviewed by the trial court under specific conditions.
Today, On 22nd October, Justice S Vishwajith Shetty of the Karnataka High Court requested medical records for incarcerated actor Darshan Thoogudeepa, who is seeking bail due to spine-related health issues. The court will review the medical evidence before deciding on the bail plea, connected to the murder case of auto-driver Renukaswamy.
Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal today has requested a seven-day extension of his interim bail on medical grounds, citing weight loss and elevated ketone levels. The Supreme Court previously granted him interim bail until June 1 in a money laundering case. The Enforcement Directorate strongly opposed this decision, stating that he should not receive special treatment due to his political status. Kejriwal’s arrest relates to alleged irregularities in the framing of the Delhi excise policy.
