Kerala: Today, 6th Feb, The Kerala High Court has issued a notice to the State of Kerala regarding an appeal filed by Greeshma, who was sentenced to death for the murder of 23-year-old Sharon Raj from Thiruvananthapuram.
A Kerala court Today (Jan 20) sentenced Greeshma to death for poisoning her lover, Sharon Raj, after her family arranged her marriage to another man. The 23-year-old victim died of organ failure days after consuming a poisoned Ayurvedic tonic. Greeshma’s uncle received three years in prison, while her mother was acquitted. The case, which sparked public outrage, highlighted a tragic tale of betrayal and conspiracy.
A Kerala court Today (Jan 17) convicted Greeshma for the murder of her boyfriend, Sharon Raj, by poisoning him with a laced Ayurvedic tonic in October 2022. The crime stemmed from her desire to end their relationship after her family arranged her marriage to another man. Greeshma’s uncle was also found guilty of hiding evidence, while her mother was acquitted. Sharon’s tragic death, caused by multiple organ failure, sparked outrage and led to an in-depth investigation, culminating in the guilty verdict. The sentencing is scheduled for January 18, 2025.
Today(on 22nd April), The Supreme Court dismissed Greeshma’s plea to annul the final report in the Parassala murder case, upholding the Crime Branch DySP’s authority. Greeshma’s dissatisfaction with the High Court’s ruling led to the challenge. The case now shifts focus to the upcoming trial proceedings in the Sessions Court.
