Today, On 25th July, Supreme Court, stating “Under Article 32 Plea Is Permitted,” allows Kerala to withdraw petition challenging Governor’s inaction, despite Centre’s suggestion to refer the matter to a larger bench due to pending constitutional questions.
In the ongoing Tamil Nadu government vs. Governor row, the Supreme Court emphasized that “authorities occupying high offices must uphold constitutional values.” The court criticized Governor RN Ravi’s actions, suggesting they were influenced by extraneous factors. Though the ruling came on April 8, 2025, it was made public only recently.
Supreme Court Today (April 8) rules Tamil Nadu Governor’s move to send 10 bills to the President as unconstitutional. The court said Governors must act within 3 months and follow the State Government’s advice.
