An 11-year-old girl from Jaipur posted YouTube videos, including one with a syringe, raising concerns about social media’s impact on children. The Rajasthan High Court criticized her grandparents for “serious negligence” and shifted her and her younger brother’s custody to their mother. The grandparents denied wrongdoing and plan to challenge the decision in the Supreme Court.
The court, in its order passed on February 28, also convicted a woman attendant of the school bus and sentenced her to the jail term that she has already undergone. The girl was a nursery student in a convent school located in Mira Road locality and the incident occurred while she was returning home after attending the school.
