Today, On 23rd April, The Bombay High Court initiated police action against BJP MLAs Geeta Jain and Nitesh Rane for alleged hate speeches, following concerns raised by Mumbai residents. With growing scrutiny on public figure rhetoric, the Court directed police commissioners to personally review speech videos and transcripts to prevent potential violence and disturbance during upcoming elections and religious rallies.
On Thursday(21st March),A petition filed in the Bombay High Court seeks FIRs against politicians for hate speeches following Mira Road violence. Prominent politicians, including Nitesh Rane, T Raja Singh, and Geeta Jain, are accused of exacerbating tensions with their speeches. The petitioners highlight police inaction and emphasize the need for unbiased law enforcement to maintain communal harmony.
