The Supreme Court ruled that the right to clear and safe footpaths is included in the fundamental right to life. It instructed all states and UTs to create guidelines ensuring pedestrian safety, especially for disabled individuals.

Concerns were raised about further protests violating court orders, reinforcing the need for unbiased law enforcement.

The court also urged the BMC to develop a protocol for temporary street vending while maintaining pedestrian safety.
