New Delhi: 25th March, A three-member committee, appointed by the Supreme Court, has started an inquiry into the alleged discovery of cash at the official residence of Delhi High Court judge, Justice Yashwant Varma. The committee members reached his residence on Tuesday and carried out an inspection, sources said.

The decision was announced through an official circular on Monday, raising serious concerns over the issue. The High Court circular further stated that the court master of Division Bench-III, which was led by Justice Yashwant Varma, “will give dates in matters.” This means that ongoing cases under his jurisdiction will now be managed by the court master until further decisions are made.

While extinguishing the fire, firefighters stumbled upon stacks of currency notes in one of the rooms. The police and Chief Justice Sanjiv Khanna were informed about the incident.
