Rare Order: SC Directs Manipur Government to Provide Financial Assistance of 3K To UPSC Aspirants as Travel Expense

The Supreme Court has ordered on friday, the Manipur government to pay Rs 3,000 per day to civil service aspirants from violence-affected hill districts, enabling them to travel outside the state for the UPSC Civil Services Examination. The directive was issued due to safety concerns, as the state cannot open examination centers in certain areas affected by violence since May 2023.

UPSC Aspirants in Manipur: Delhi High Court Seeks Exam Center Clarification

Today(14th March), The Delhi High Court has urged the government, Manipur administration, and UPSC to address a plea for additional exam centers in Manipur due to ethnic tensions. The plea aims to assist tribal aspirants in participating in civil services exams on May 26. This comes amidst ongoing conflict and a demand for Scheduled Tribe status.
