Students who gave NEET UG exam in darkness due to power cuts in Indore and Ujjain Today (Jully 16) moved the Supreme Court. They want a re-exam after MP High Court’s order allowing it was overturned.
The Delhi High Court Today (Feb 12) refused to allow NEET (UG) to be conducted twice a year like JEE (Mains). The court stated that such decisions fall under government policy and are not for the judiciary to decide. “It is for the authorities to consider the prayer. That’s a policy decision by the government,” the bench said. The petitioner, a coaching institute teacher, argued that multiple attempts would reduce stress and help students improve scores, but the court noted that many other competitive exams also do not offer multiple chances.
The Supreme Court will hear the Consortium of National Law Universities’ plea on January 15 to transfer multiple cases about CLAT 2025 results from various high courts. The controversy arose after a Delhi High Court ruling identified errors in the exam answer key, sparking widespread disputes among candidates and calls for result revisions.
The Centre Today (Jan 2) told the Supreme Court that it would be implementing all the corrective measures suggested by its seven-member expert panel on exam reforms after reviewing the National Testing Agency’s functioning in holding NEET-UG last year. The top court on August 2, last year refused to annul the controversy-ridden NEET-UG of 2024, saying there was no sufficient material on record at present to indicate a systemic leak or malpractice compromising the integrity of the examination.
The Delhi University Faculty of Law has postponed the LL.B exams originally set for December 26, 2024, due to student protests over incomplete syllabus coverage and faculty disruptions. Students demanded the postponement, leading to peaceful protests that escalated, prompting police intervention. The university acknowledged these concerns and planned to release a revised exam schedule.
The Bar Council of India (BCI) released an important notification regarding the registration for the All India Bar Examination (AIBE) XIX. As per this notification, candidates who are in their final year of a 3-year or 5-year integrated L.L.B. degree program and do not possess enrollment certificates are now allowed to appear for the AIBE exam. The Supreme Court on Sept 20 allowed final-year law students to appear in the AIBE which is scheduled to take place on November 24.

The Supreme Court on Sept 13th observed that Courts must be circumspect in entertaining an individual grievance relating to a Public Examination as it delays the finalisation of the result, thereby, seriously prejudicing the larger public interest. CJI dismissed SLP filed by a student (petitioner) seeking re-examination of NEET-UG 2024 on the grounds of “inconvenience” caused due to the petitioner’s medical condition of hyperhidrosis during the examination.
