Today, On 8th August, The Supreme Court has agreed to hear a PIL filed by the Delimitation Demand Committee for Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur and Nagaland. The bench said it will soon fix a date for a detailed hearing.
The Centre is planning to implement 33% women’s reservation in the 2029 Lok Sabha polls under the Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam. Linked to the delimitation process, it proposes one-third seats for women in Parliament and assemblies.
