New Delhi, Feb 4: The Delhi High Court given a final opportunity to the Delhi government to submit a status report on a case filed by several blind students who are seeking accommodation to continue their education. On Tuesday, Justice Sachin Datta remarked that the Delhi government’s social welfare department had been ordered to file the report, but had failed to do so.
Today, On 12th July, The Delhi High Court directed the Municipal Corporation of Delhi to transfer a building to the Department of Social Welfare for relocating over 920 inmates from the overcrowded Asha Kiran shelter home. The court emphasized the urgent need to alleviate the situation and instructed immediate actions to address the overcrowding and improve living conditions.
