At the end of 2024, the Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) Court in Chirang, Assam, successfully resolved all 830 pending cases, achieving a remarkable 100% disposal rate. This achievement stands out amidst the country’s ongoing judicial backlog. The district also reported a 23.29% conviction rate for the year, highlighting effective teamwork among stakeholders.
On Wednesday(24th April),The courtroom drama unfolded at the Delhi Rouse Avenue court during the Delhi excise policy case hearing. Defense lawyers walked out after the court allowed the CBI to proceed with arguments on framing charges, despite objections. Special CBI Judge expressed astonishment, and the hearing has been adjourned until May 7 for document submissions.
