This action follows a directive from the Supreme Court of India, announced on January 21, 2025. The court was informed of the progress during a hearing related to a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) filed by the Kinner Maa Eksamajik Sanstha Trust.
NEW DELHI: On Tuesday (21st Jan), the Supreme Court directed all high courts to expedite the formation of two-judge panels to address the grievances of district judicial officers regarding the implementation of the Second National Judicial Pay Commission (SNJPC) recommendations.
The Centre has informed the Supreme Court of delays in implementing the SC Collegium’s recommendations for high court chief justice appointments due to “sensitive material” held by the government. Attorney General R. Venkatramani proposed submitting these inputs in a sealed cover for the judges’ review to maintain confidentiality. The matter will be heard again on September 20.
