The Jharkhand High Court observed that the state police raid on the Enforcement Directorate office in Ranchi appeared prima facie preplanned. The Court ordered the deployment of the CRPF for security and stayed the FIR against the ED officials.
The Supreme Court ruled that the Unnao rape survivor will continue to receive CRPF security due to ongoing safety concerns, while security for her family and witnesses was removed post-conviction of Kuldeep Sengar. The court advised those feeling unsafe to contact local police for assistance. Sengar is appealing his conviction.
Today(24th Sept),The Supreme Court of India has requested a response from the 2017 Unnao rape survivor and her family regarding the Central government’s plea to withdraw their CRPF security, originally ordered in 2019. This security was established following the conviction of Kuldeep Singh Sengar, a BJP leader, for the crime.
