Bombay: The Bombay High Court is scheduled to hear a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) on February 19 regarding the deaths of actor Sushant Singh Rajput and his former manager, Disha Salian. This PIL demands the arrest and questioning of Shiv Sena (UBT) MLA Aditya Thackeray, claiming he might be linked to the mysterious circumstances surrounding their deaths.
Uttar Pradesh: A special court on Tuesday conducted a hearing in the defamation case against Rahul Gandhi, the Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha and MP from Raebareli. The case was filed by Vijay Mishra, a local BJP politician, over an alleged objectionable remark made by Gandhi about Home Minister Amit Shah during the 2018 Karnataka Assembly elections.
Today, On 10th February, The Karnataka High Court questioned the Waqf Board’s power to issue marriage and divorce certificates. Last year, the Court put a hold on a 2023 Government Order that allowed the Waqf Board and its district officers to certify Muslim marriages. The Court is reviewing whether the board has the legal authority for this role. The issue raises concerns about jurisdiction and official recognition of such certificates.

Today(on 9th July),The Supreme Court reprimanded advocate Ashok Pandey for not depositing a Rs 50,000 fine for filing a “meritless” plea and directed him to pay within two weeks. Justices Abhay S. Oka and Augustine George Masih rejected Pandey’s request for more time, despite his claim of filing petitions in support of former CJI Dipak Misra in 2018 during allegations against Misra.
