The pleas seek a review of this decision, arguing against his release. The case, which shocked the nation, is once again under judicial scrutiny.
During the hearing, the special CBI judge questioned the agency for not providing all documents to Sandip Ghosh. However, the judge also scolded Ghosh’s lawyer, stating, “We’re not here to find faults with either side.This is not a political platform where you can raise your voice. You cannot speak like this against an agency. Submit your concerns in writing.” The court maintained that legal arguments must follow proper procedures.
The Madras High Court annulled a 20-year-old woman’s marriage to her former teacher, citing coercion and lack of understanding during the signing of marriage papers. The court voided the registration, emphasizing the importance of consent and personal autonomy. The teacher agreed to end the marriage, allowing the woman to pursue her education.

Today, On14th August, The Supreme Court agreed to consider a plea challenging the acquittal of Surendra Koli in the 2006 Nithari serial killings case. The CBI filed a new plea against the Allahabad High Court’s decision and included it with other pending petitions. Koli and Moninder Singh Pandher faced charges of rape and murder in this shocking case.
The High Court Bar Association is advocating for the appointment of local lawyers as judges in order to better represent the local legal community and address regional issues. They also outlined demands for advocate protection, medical insurance, and infrastructure support, which received positive feedback from the Union Law Minister.
