Today (30th April): A Calcutta High Court lawyer, Vikas Ranjan Bhattacharya, faced protests from job recipients outside the court. The demonstrators accused him of involvement in unfair hiring practices, claiming that he was “eating the job.” The protests followed a hearing on corruption in the primary recruitment process, related to the 2014 TET exam. NEW DELHI: Today (April 29): The Supreme Court postponed the hearing of the State of West Bengal’s Special Leave Petition (SLP), which challenges the High Court’s order for a CBI investigation into alleged sexual assault, violence, and land grabbing in Sandeshkhali. The adjournment was granted at the request of the state’s counsel, with the court instructing that the petition’s pendency should not be exploited to prolong proceedings in the Calcutta High Court.
On Wednesday (24th April): Arvind Kejriwal’s plea challenging his arrest by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) was contested in the Supreme Court, with the agency citing his non-cooperation during the investigation. The ED maintains that Kejriwal’s behaviour warranted his arrest, while the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) accuses the ED of falsehoods and serving the interests of the BJP. Kejriwal is in judicial custody at Tihar jail.

Today (12th April) The CBI has requested the custodial interrogation of K Kavitha due to unsatisfactory answers regarding the alleged bribe payments to the Aam Aadmi Party. Kavitha is accused of demanding and receiving substantial sums of money from different sources, as part of a larger conspiracy involving the Delhi Excise Policy. She is also alleged to have conspired with AAP leaders to gain favors in policy formulation.
Today (11th April): The CBI is set to present BRS leader K Kavitha at the Delhi Rouse Avenue Court tomorrow. Kavitha faces legal proceedings related to alleged criminal conspiracy and falsification of accounts. The case involves a liquor policy scam, with accusations of kickbacks to the Aam Aadmi Party. ED investigations have led to provisional asset attachment worth Rs. 128.79 crore.
