The Supreme Court refused to entertain an independent candidate’s plea against the rejection of his nomination for the upcoming elections. The candidate was advised to pursue alternative legal remedies, as the Court stated that such matters should be challenged through an election petition rather than at a pre-poll stage. The petition was ultimately dismissed.
Today(on 10thApril), 700 Tripura teachers petition Supreme Court against 2017 and 2020 termination orders due to invalidated Employment Policy. High Court nullified appointments, leading to unjust terminations. They claim innocence, alleging lack of information and active salary records being misused. The petition outlines a “massive scam” and dire consequences, including teacher suicides. Investigation initiated.
