Hyderabad, March 19: The Telangana High Court has quashed an FIR filed in March 2020 against Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy for allegedly flying a drone without permission. The case, which was registered at Narsingi police station, accused him of using a drone to take pictures of a building in Janwada.
NEW DELHI: On February 10, the Supreme Court raised concerns regarding an FIR filed against Congress MP Imran Pratapgarhi by the Gujarat Police. The FIR was registered after Pratapgarhi allegedly posted an edited video of a provocative song. The Supreme Court bench, led by Justices Abhay S. Oka and Ujjal Bhuyan, questioned the reasoning behind the Gujarat High Court’s dismissal of Pratapgarhi’s plea to quash the FIR.
Between 2019 and October 2024, the Enforcement Directorate filed 911 chargesheets under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act, achieving only 42 convictions, indicating a low conviction rate of approximately 4.6%. With 28% of cases still pending trial, concerns of political bias and misuse of the Act have been raised.
