Concerns were raised about police custody, handcuffing, property seizure, trial fairness, and electronic evidence admissibility.
Today (7th May): The Supreme Court has directed all police departments to cease making caste-based entries in history sheets, aiming to prevent discriminatory profiling and ensure fair treatment. The Court highlighted the need for periodic audits by senior police officers to eradicate discriminatory practices and uphold the right to human dignity as per the Indian Constitution.
