Today, On 28th November, Sameer Wankhede, former NCB zonal director, petitioned the Bombay High Court to transfer an atrocities case against NCP leader Nawab Malik to the CBI, citing police inaction on his August 2022 complaint. Wankhede claims this inaction has caused mental distress and humiliation for him and his family due to Malik’s derogatory remarks.
Today, On 5th September, Former IAS probationer Puja Khedkar has offered to undergo a medical examination at AIIMS following claims that her disability certificates may be forged. The Delhi Police alleges that she misrepresented information to secure reservation benefits for the civil services examination and has questioned her eligibility. Khedkar has denied all allegations, with further hearings scheduled for September 26.
Today, On 11 June, The Delhi High Court instructed the police to take action against those responsible for the stage collapse at Kalkaji Temple, where a woman died and 17 others were injured during a religious gathering. The court raised concerns about contradictory statements by the temple’s Mahant and appointed a lawyer to assess the temple’s conditions. The matter is set for further hearing in August.
