Supreme Court Cancels Bail of Ritu Minocha in GST Fraud Case, Slams Karnataka HC: “The Manner & Timeframe Needs Interference”

Today, On 15th July, The Supreme Court cancelled Ritu Minocha’s interim bail in a ₹665 crore GST fraud case, criticizing the Karnataka High Court for granting relief out of turn. It remarked, “The manner and timeframe needs interference” in the case proceedings.

Centre Announces Establishment of GST Appellate Tribunal Nationwide

The Goods and Services Tax Appellate Tribunal (GSTAT) has been established by the Ministry of Finance to address the increasing disputes between taxpayers and the Revenue Department. It will have a principal bench in New Delhi and 31 state benches distributed across various regions. The tribunal is expected to expedite dispute resolution and reduce the backlog of pending appeals.
